The Decisive Point

Installation, Oil on canvas, 60 x 170cm (each), 348 Harolds Cross Road, 2021.

The term ‘decisive point’ refers to a crucial turning point or moment of truth where a decision or action will have a significant impact on the outcome. In military strategy, the decisive point often refers to a key objective or opportunity that, if seized or exploited effectively, can lead to victory. In this installation of four paintings the key position could refer to contradictory ideas about uniformity or uniqueness brought together in the work such as the team spilt up into separate canvases, the uniforms expressed in an expressionist manner or it could refer to the image depicted – a line up for a free kick.
